KING'S LYNN V LIONS, PREVIEW

JOSH Bates has no fear over mixing it with the very best King’s Lynn has to offer on the back of his maximum on Saturday.

The Lions youngster switches back to reserve having led the way with a 15-point haul from number one in Saturday’s challenge victory over Cradley.

That outing also gave Bates a taste for the high life and while Wednesday’s Premiership trip to the Adrian Flux Arena (7.30) will present an entirely different challenge, it is one the 21-year-old will not shirk.

“That meeting gave me so much confidence,” said Bates. “Maybe some people will say they were not the best riders but I still needed to make the starts.

“It was a big boost for me and a different feeling being at number one, having to score. Once you feel like you can make starts, you believe you can make them against anyone. I might go there against Chris Holder and think ‘I can make a start on him’.

“I am quick if I get to the front, especially at home and King’s Lynn is a really well-prepared track. Buster (Keith Chapman, Stars promoter) does a great job and it is one of my favourite places to race.

“We will see how it goes. I think we have every chance, we have Danny King who is absolutely amazing around there so why shouldn’t we feel good about it with the way we have been riding.”

Both teams are set to be at full strength.

KING'S LYNN: Chris Holder, Lewis Rose, Nicklas Porsing, Troy Batchelor, Robert Lambert, Kai Huckenbeck, Josh Bailey.

LEICESTER: Kim Nilsson, Lasse Bjerre, Kacper Gomolski, Erik Riss, Danny King, Josh Bates, Danny Ayres.
